Precise Temperature Control
Induction soldering is a soldering technique characterized by extremely rapid heating to the desired temperature range, where it is regulated by infrared temperature sensors that measure the workpiece being heated.
With very precise control of heating/cooling and timing, it is possible to solder even the most difficult and heat-sensitive components.
Soldering Heat-Sensitive Cables
One example is semi-rigid cable, or Flexiform, where there is an inner conductor, dielectric and a sheath that is tin-plated and therefore conductive.
With conventional soldering techniques, where the temperature cannot be controlled very precisely, the cable will be damaged because the tin flows away from the sheath during heating.
With induction, we achieve VERY rapid heating (seconds), in a VERY limited area, which is constantly regulated by means of water cooling and infrared temperature sensors.
The result is a perfectly soldered component, where the solder flows exactly as intended.
