56° Denmark: Droplet AirDock & Droplet MiniSpeaker

If there is something Denmark is known for worldwide, it is design and audio products.

56° Denmark originates from AKS Industries, which, as Denmark’s oldest existing mechanical supplier to the radio industry, was founded in 1924.

The pocket-sized 56° Droplet MiniSpeaker offers revolutionary portable audio technology with crystal-clear sound and a rechargeable battery that only consumes power when connected.

The droplet shape is the hallmark of the Droplet line’s design. The same line also includes the Droplet AirDock.

The Droplet AirDock is an Apple-approved docking station for iPad and iPhone, featuring superb sound and AirPlay functionality.

The 56° Droplet AirDock is a combination of a classic dock, holder, and charger for Apple products – and a wireless speaker you can take with you on the go. It can be used both in the living room – as a holder and speaker for the iPad – and outside the home.

Background of 56° Denmark

56° Denmark originates from AKS Industries, which, as Denmark’s oldest existing mechanical supplier to the radio industry, was founded in 1924.

We manufactured variable capacitors and supplied small sheet-metal and mechanical parts, speakers with cabinets, and record players with automatic changers for the growing Danish radio production.

When the first Danish-produced televisions were made, we were also a key supplier of mechanical components.

As the Danish radio and television factories closed down, we found new customers in the electronics, medical, and process industries.

Now, AKS Industries has returned to the industry where it all began – as a producer of audio products, with the 56° Droplet AirDock being the first product launched.
